November 2019 – Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust (LANLT) opens Golden Age Park !

On Saturday, November 2nd, LA Housing Partnership joined together with LANLT, local residents, allies, community partners and park supporters to celebrate the grand opening of Golden Age Park in the community of Westlake Village/ MacArthur Park! LA Housing Partnership has been a supporter of this project since its inception in late 2015 and has helped to connect LANLT to the residents who will benefit from this green space by opening up its Seven Maples and Seventh & Coronado facilities to host design and collaboration meetings, as well as the groundbreaking ceremony!

Before its transformation into the beautiful Golden Age Park, it was once a dilapidated, blighted vacant lot that served little purpose in the community.. LANLT was able to secure funding and support to purchase the lot and transform it into a green space with special focus on bringing the community together in an intergenerational setting. The park includes planters for community gardening, exercise equipment for all ages, a playground for children, walking path with seating areas and picnic tables, two outdoor grills, and more!
